美國的配方奶(infant formula)

雖然說應該會餵母奶，但是，在未來小米剛出生而我的母奶未充分時，我在醫院應該還是會餵一點配方奶吧？也因此，美國配方奶是否也遭大陸毒奶污染的新聞，成為我們自然關心的主題之一。所以就把這個新聞簡單翻譯一下，作為自己和其他位於美國的準父母的參考囉。

節錄一些部分，以提醒大家哪些牌子有被檢出三聚氰胺(melamine)或相關化合物，如三聚氰酸（cyanuric acid)。

FDA tests found "very low levels" of the industrial chemical melamine in Nestle's Good Start Supreme with Iron formula, Sundlof said during a conference call. Low levels of cyanuric acid were found in Bristol-Myers Squibb unit Mead Johnson's Enfamil Lipil with Iron.

簡易翻譯：
1.Nestle的「Good Start Supreme with Iron formula」有被驗出三聚氰胺，
2.Mead Johnson的「Enfamil Lipil with Iron」有被驗出三聚氰酸

The agency said it had determined that levels of melamine or one of its related compounds, alone, below 1 part per million in infant formula were not a concern.

官方認為三聚氰胺或者三聚氰酸，如果單獨存在於產品中且濃度低於1ppm的話，不是啥大問題。（註一）

The FDA found melamine levels of 0.137 part per million and 0.140 part per million in tests on the Nestle sample and cyanuric acid levels of 0.247 part per million, 0.245 part per million and 0.249 part per million in the Mead Johnson product.

The FDA tested products from the U.S.'s five FDA-approved makers of milk-based infant formulas: Abbott Laboratories, Bristol-Myers, Nestlé, PBM Products LLC and Solus Products LLC.

The FDA said the bulk of tests in 87 formula samples came back negative for both melamine and cyanuric acid. The agency is still waiting for results from 13 samples.

這次的檢驗報告，來自於FDA認證的五家配方奶公司：Abbott Laboratories, Bristol-Myers（Mead Johnson是屬於這家）, Nestlé, PBM Products LLC and Solus Products LLC.。總共檢驗了87個配方奶樣本，目前還有13個樣本還沒檢驗完（應該是檢驗完後，有新的發現會再公布）

小結：
感覺原則上雖然驗出來，但FDA並未說要讓這兩樣產品下架，因為似乎是認為「含量不足以構成傷害」。所以，父母們就靠自己判斷囉！

我想，像FDA這樣的作法，應該是比較「官僚式」的作法啦，就是「反正我有跟大眾交代，也有跟大眾說"原則上，會造成傷害的標準是啥"，那要不要買隨便你」。不知道這樣的作法，如果在台灣，是不是能被接受呢？不禁有點好奇:P



註一：三聚氰胺和三聚氰酸混和在一起，比起各自單獨存在更具有腎毒性。
